Boil dal in water along with the pieces of drumstick, brinjal, pumpkin and onions.
2Add tamarind pulp, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and sambhar masala.
3Cook it on slow fire till you get the desired consistency. Add jaggery and cook it.
4For tempering, heat oil add red chilli whole, mustard seed, fenugreek, curry leaves and hing.
5Add the temper to the dal mixture.
6Boil for 2 minutes.
Serve hot with idlis, dosas.
Ingredients:
- Toor Dal – 100 gms
- Drumstick, pumpkin, onions, brinjal – 50 gms
- Tamarind Juice – 25-30 gms
- Chilli Powder – ½ tspn
- Turmeric Powder – 1 tspn
- Salt to taste
- Sambhar Masala – 15 gms
- Mustard Oil- 2 tbsp
- Jaggery – 15 gms
- Oil -15 ml
- Red Chilli Whole – 1 gm
- Fenugreek – ¼ tspn
- Mustard Seeds – ½ tspn
- Curry Leaves – 8-10 number
- Hing a pinch
